Informal Consultation (22 Sep 2016 - 20 Oct 2016)

We’d like to hear your thoughts on the proposal to put in a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in the Brixton Hill area.

What is the problem?

We’ve recently received many letters, e-mails and enquiries from local residents and businesses in your neighbourhood raising concerns about parking problems. The main issues mentioned are based on:

  • People who commute into the area to continue their journey to work using the good transport links in Lambeth.
  • Residents and staff from local businesses in nearby streets where there are parking controls are parking here instead to avoid paying for parking.

What can be done?

Having listened to the concerns raised, we’d like to propose making your road a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). We’ve prepared a survey that you can complete if you’re a resident or business in the area to give us feedback on what kind of parking controls you would like to see implemented, if any at all.

How can I contribute to the discussion?

You’ll be able to have a look at details of the proposal via the links on this page, as well as access the survey so that you can have your say on these proposals. Please be advised, you’ll need to provide the unique reference number that will be on the address label of the envelope we sent out (it’s the code which looks like ‘URN-BH123456’) when you’re answering the survey.

What will happen next?

We’ll need your answers by the 20th October, and we’ll use your feedback to decide what the next steps will be for your neighbourhood

What are the plans?

You can take a look at the details of the proposals for your area as well as view them on map one and map two Answers can be found here to frequently asked questions and the permit pricing structure
You can also visit our CPZ webpages to find out more about parking restrictions

Please note that we will be hosting a drop in session on Saturday 1 October from 10am to 4pm at Richard Atkins Primary School, New Park Road, London, SW2 4JP to discuss people’s views, any issues raised, suggested solutions and what people want for their road. Details of this event are shown in the attachments above, along with other key information about CPZs that you might find useful.

Were parking surveys conducted?

Parking surveys were undertaken in the Brixton Hill area on Wednesday 15th June and Saturday 18th June 2016. These provide a representation of a typical weekday and a Saturday. The results of the surveys are discussed in this comprehensive report
