1. Community in Action Level 2

This course is accredited by the Charted Institute of Housing.

The course will provide you with a basic understanding of housing management and introduce some of the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in housing related activities whether paid or voluntary such as running a tenants and residents association (TRA).

As an accredited course equivalent to a GCSE, this qualification can be used to help you get work in housing or a related field.

All our courses are being offered through our training partner High Trees Community Development Trust.

2. Award in Education and Teaching (AET)

We're offering residents who volunteer to provide services for other residents such as IT training or helping with youth activities, the opportunity to gain an accredited qualification for their volunteering.

The AET is a nationally recognised training qualification and is being offered through our training partner High Trees Community Development Trust.

We would expect residents undertaking this qualification to agree to volunteer their services for a fixed time in return for us paying for the course for them.

It’s a 12-week daytime programme for residents who support others’ learning.

3. Level 2 Food Hygiene

1 day Food and Hygiene Level 2 (Accredited)

This is an online course designed to allow learners to understand and comply with the latest legislation and their legal obligation for catering training to ensure that food is prepared, cooked and handled in a safe and hygienic manner to comply with food hygiene standards.

You can also complete this course online at Virtual College.

4. CIH Scrutiny Course

This course will provide you with knowledge, information and skills to operate as a resident panel member in housing.

It’s a 10-week evening programme and learners will gain an:

  • understanding of scrutiny in the housing service
  • understanding of housing management performance information
  • appreciation of what is required in undertaking a scrutiny review of a housing service.

5. IT courses and help to get online

There's lots of reasons to get online, and we can help you get online for free. If you're one of our residents who doesn't have internet access, you can get online for free at one of our digital hubs.

Our digital hubs also provide accredited computer training courses.

The QNUK Level 3 Award, 2 day Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is being offered by Engie

  • provides knowledge & skills for first aiders working in early years environments.
  • learners will gain knowledge, skills and understanding of paediatric first aid
  • role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider.
  • how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others and much more

The Lambeth Safeguarding Children Board also offers training in Safeguarding.
