A proxy vote is when you nominate someone to vote on your behalf. You will need to state the reason you require a proxy, for example, you may be away on polling day. Proxy applications are only valid for specific elections – you will need to re-apply for every election.
Cancelling an existing postal or proxy application
Requests to cancel an existing postal or proxy vote must be made in writing to the electoral services address above. Alternatively the signed request can be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Postal proxy voting
If an elector has appointed a proxy to vote on their behalf, that proxy must be able to attend the polling station to which the elector has been registered.
If the proxy will not be able to attend the polling station to which the elector has been registered on polling day, the proxy can apply for a postal proxy vote.
