Public sector Equality Duty (PSED) – 2014/15
Knowing and understanding our staff is a key part of our approach to service improvement. The collection and analysis of information about the equality profile of the people who we employ is important. It helps us to meet the aspiration in our community plan of a workforce that reflects the borough’s diverse communities at all levels throughout our organisation. Wherever possible, removing barriers which prevent the existence and promotion of equality of opportunity.
The PSED requires public bodies to consider how their activities as employers affect people who share different protected characteristics. The specific duties require public bodies with 150 or more employees to publish information to show they do this.
