Brixton City Festival is a part of Ovalhouse’s series of work accompanying our move to Brixton, Coldharbour Lane in 2020. Following the great success of the 2016 and 2017 festivals, we hope this year’s festival will help to introduce even more Brixton residents to Ovalhouse and our work, through an entertaining and inclusive event for the local area. Love Letters to Brixton by Strongback Productions A pop-up venue, repurposed to resemble a post office, where audiences can write love letters to the area, inspired by performances and interactions with poets and artists in residence
The Virtual Theatre Through our partnership with exciting new virtual reality platform LIVR, audiences can be transported to Ovalhouse Theatre to enjoy some of our favourite productions from the past year, sat in our bespoke Virtual Theatre shed.
Community Radio Station A live radio station playing a range of original, bespoke music and presenter-led content to those in the local area, which will also be released as a special podcast series, allowing those who missed the festival to enjoy some of the magic
Wonders of Brixton part III by Lara Lee The third part of singer/songwriter Lara Lee’s series of live music performance pieces celebrating the history and community of Brixton, performed on Saturday night on stage with a live band
UNSA’s Space Shed by Unlimited Theatre (TBC) Unlimited Theatre’s acclaimed Unlimited Space Agency presents a unique family show in their purpose-built Space Shed, enlightening minds of all ages to the wonders and mysteries of the cosmos.
