Last year Open Orchard and local residents planted fruit trees at Wood Vale and nominated Benton's Lane as a grass patch that could become an orchard instead. All ages welcome to help.
It takes a team of 2 or 3 people about 15 minutes to plant a fruit tree. As well as offering something to eat, fruit trees help improve air quality and are an educational resource about pollination, and where food comes from. Open Orchard provide the tools and share the know-how to get new trees into the ground to grow. Join them again in Autumn for the picking and turning-into-food season.
