HMD Brixton 2017 poster

Every year on the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp we stop for a moment to commemorate the terrible events that took place 75 years ago in the Holocaust and contemplate the continuing horror of genocide throughout the world.

With the rise in racism here and the growth in far right and fascist organisations across Europe, this meeting offers an important opportunity to challenge all racism, Islamophobia and Antisemitism. Most importantly it allows us to remember those we lost in the Holocaust and discuss the lessons that are so important to making sure it never happens again.

Speakers include:

Edie Friedman - Jewish Council for Racial Equality

Helen Hayes MP

Muslim Engagement and Development speaker

Paula Peters - Disabled People Against Cuts

Louis Challen Flynn - School Student

Michaela Loebner - daughter of Jewish Refugee from the Nazis

In collaboration with Brixton Tate Library, Holocaust Memorial Day, Stand Up To Racism (South London) and Lambeth Council.
