Back for a second year! QAS is a series of readings, poetry and performance from literary queer novelists, poets, performance artists and writers. Featuring readings and performances from:
Adam Mars-Jones – Author of Kid Gloves, Cedilla and Pilcrow as well as many years of contributions to journalism. He’ll be introducing his new novel Box Hill (Fitzcarraldo Editions) - A sizzling, sometimes shocking and strangely tragic love story’ in the gay biker community of the 1970s.
Amelia Abraham – Author of 2019’s brilliant Queer Intentions: A (Personal) Journey Through LGBTQ+ Culture, where Amelia wrestles with LGBTQ+ equality and ponders at what cost does this acceptance come? She is also a regular contributor to The Guardian, Vogue and is the features editor at Dazed and Confused.
Swithun Cooper has published fiction and poetry in magazines including Magma, Intelligent Life and Poetry London. He has won an Eric Gregory Award, was shortlisted for the Word of Mouth Prize, and is currently on the emerging writers programme at the London Library. He is working on a novel about loyalty and betrayal, set in a community of queer anarchists whose members include an undercover police officer.
