Join us for a discussion on tackling childhood obesity in London. Lambeth is taking part in the London Great Weight Debate and we need your input to help us improve the health and lives of children in the city.
Childhood obesity needs to be tackled at all levels – locally, across London and nationally. We will be discussing some of the successes that we have already had in Lambeth, and getting your ideas of what we would like to happen at London level, to complement the Lambeth obesity work and further support our children and families to live healthier lives. If you are interested in children’s health and weight issues, or want to contribute in any way, please come along!
Everyone is welcome to attend, and childcare will be provided.
The London Borough of Lambeth has joined councils and NHS organisations across London to launch the Great Weight Debate – a London conversation on childhood obesity.
As part of the campaign, we are encouraging residents to:
- Please share your views on how children in London can be supported to lead healthier lives by completing a short survey about childhood obesity.
- Come along to the ‘Great Weight Debate’ roadshow, coming to Brixton’s Windrush Square on 26 October. Families are invited to contribute to discussions on childhood obesity and take part in exercises and outdoor games.
- Join The Great Weight Debate on 2 November, a discussion about Lambeth’s successes to date in tackling childhood obesity and how these strategies can be used across London. (Places for this event can be booked via Eventbrite)
