Only drains that are within land in the same ownership as the house they serve and are not shared with any one else, remain the responsibility of the owner.
Report any issues with these drains to your landlord and keep copies of any correspondence. If they fail to fix the problem you can complain to the Property Standards and Enforcement team.
Blocked highway drains and gullies
We're responsible for clearing blockages, repair and maintain the majority of drains and gullies within our highway network (excluding TfL red routes and private drains).

Thames Water is responsible for clearing blockages, repair and maintenance of the majority of drains and sewers in Lambeth.
If you have a problem and you believe that the cause lies outside your property, or is in a drain shared with your neighbours, you should contact Thames Water on 0845 717 1100 who will advise further and arrange for work to be carried out if it is their responsibility.
