1. Resources for library members

If you are a Lambeth libraries member you can access the online library resources by using the number on your library membership card.

To access the online resources click on a link below. When entering your Borrower barcode - type in all characters including the 'LMP' but do not include any spaces. Letters should be typed in upper case.

Encyclopaedia Britannica A complete and interactive online resource which appeals to all ages.

E-books
A collection of fantastic books for both adults and children, for you to download onto your smartphone, tablet, computer or e-reader. All available from the comfort of your own home.

E-Audio books
A collection of fantastic audio books for both adults and children, for you to download onto your computer, MP3 player, smartphone, e-reader or tablet. Available from the comfort of your own home, this service is not available through the Libraries People's Network system.

E-magazines
A collection of popular magazines to download onto your computer, tablet, e-reader or smartphone. Available from the comfort of your own home.

E-Comics
A collection of comics (graphic novels) to download onto your computer, tablet, e-reader or smartphone. Available from the comfort of your own home.

Kanopy - Film Streaming
On-demand film streaming service. Get access to thousands of independent films and documentaries free. All has hundreds of education videos from The Great Courses.

Cobra
Cobra is an online resource that provides inclusive frequent updates specifically for business starters and also for those who own a small business. It includes business factsheets, concise legal information, and covers a wide range of subjects such as writing a business or marketing plan, applying for business loans, and staging exhibitions.

Universal Skills
An online subscription service to help users learn basic IT skills, support through the Universal Job Match and Universal Credit process, and learn job skills including CV creation.

Newsbank
Newspaper archive of local and regional newspapers (UK only).

PressReader An online subscription that provides instant online access to today's newspapers and magazines from various countries in full-colour, full-page format and in over 60 languages. Download the PressReader app, enter your library card number and start browsing. Or visit your local library and log into their Wi-Fi on the same mobile device.

Oxford Bibliographies Oxford Bibliographies offers exclusive, authoritative research guides across a variety of subject areas. Have access to the British and Irish Literature and Victoria Literature.

Oxford Dictionaries Free online english dictionary from Oxford Dictionaries. Translate from English to Spanish, French, Italian, and German with bilingual dictionaries.

Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
A collection of biographies of the people who have shaped Britain's past and present.

Oxford English Dictionary Online
Respected as an authority on spelling, origin, definition, and meaning of words in the English language, with illustrative references and over 500,000 entries.

Grove Art Online This resource provides you with global art and architecture from pre-history to present day. You need not worry about its reliability as it updated regularly, and also contains peer-reviewed articles from almost 7,000 scholars, globally. Extra information is also provided through pictures, bibliographies and links to additional resources.

Grove Music Online Update your musical research with this resources by making use of its 52,000+ articles written by nearly 9,000 scholars. These scholars obtain a divers knowledge and the history, theory and cultures of music all over the world. Grove Music Online is based on the first work published in 1879 and frequently updated with hundreds of new articles an article revision annually. It maintains continuous publication and has been for over a century.

Oxford Reference Online
Oxford Reference is the leading online reference resource, 25 different areas, bringing together over a million digitized records across Oxford University Press’s Dictionaries, Companions and Encyclopaedias.

Oxford Research Encyclopedias The Oxford Research Encyclopedias (OREs) offer long-form overview articles written, peer-reviewed, and edited by leading scholars.

Oxford Scholarly Editions Online Now available, for the first time, scholars are students are able to access highly reliable and comprehensive texts on Oxford’s Scholarly Editions. Providing works from writers active dating as far back as 701-1901, as well as Classical Latin and Greek authors: Aristotle; Austen and Dickens through to Plato and Virgil, OSEO has over 1,500 scholarly editions that are easily accessible compared to its equivalent of over 760,000.

This site offers three services: Enquire, Discover and Read.

Enquire
An international real-time and email enquiry service, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Discover
Search for a wide and growing range of resources from a single point, including news services, and library, museum and archive projects, including our very own Landmark website. Discover also allows people to personalise the service, so they can tailor it to their own requirements.

Read
Gives you access to a range of online services related to books and reading, incorporating online and library reading groups and links for people to further explore books and reading through the web.

Ancestry

Ancestry Library Edition allows you to search for family history records online, providing access from the 1841 to 1901 UK censuses.

Access to Research

Ideal for small businesses, researchers and students, amongst others, Access to Research offers free digital access to over 1.5million academic articles from over 8,400 journals. Get in-depth information on topics such as art, business, engineering, history, languages, politics, mathematics and the sciences with articles from academic journals and conference proceedings. This service is in collaboration with librarians and publishers. Please note that publishers have not made all articles available free of charge.
