The SCI sets out Lambeth council's commitments to involving local communities, businesses and other organisations in all planning decisions.

The SCI identifies who will be consulted, in what manner, and when the consultation will take place. The Government requires this document to ensure that communities are appropriately involved in planning for their areas.

The current SCI was adopted on 30 October 2020. It replaces the previous 2015 version and incorporates the 2018 addendum which sets out how the Council will provide advice or assistance to neighbourhood planning groups. The current SCI has been updated to reflect changes to legislation and planning practice guidance, best practice in stakeholder engagement and changes to the Council’s pre-application service.
