This guide is written for NQTs and those supporting them, and contains copies of paperwork and documents that may be useful during induction.

1. Introduction to paperwork

The templates contained in this guide are for the non-statutory paperwork around induction; the forms that don't need to be submitted to Lambeth routinely, as a part of an NQT's induction.

That said, it should still be completed as induction progresses - this will enable all involved to have a record of the support and monitoring that has been offered and received.

If you, or your school, have alternative ways of recording this non-statutory information, then please use them; the important thing is that the range of information recorded on the templates is recorded, not the paperwork used to do it!

As part of our Appropriate Body remit, the Lambeth Induction team may ask to view any paperwork completed, both as part of their Quality Assurance function, and particularly if concerns are raised by NQT or school about any aspect of the induction process.

2. Generic (non-time specific) paperwork

Action Plan and Action Plan Objective Form templates

An action plan should be made up of a number of objectives - these templates can be used to record progress made towards the completion of objectives and action plans.

Evidence Indicator Form template

There is no need for an NQT to keep a separate file of evidence, showing how they are meeting each of the Teachers' Standards - this template allows an NQT to show where - within their normal, day-to-day, records - such evidence can be found.

Impact of Professional Development Form template

This template allows an NQT to record individual professional development opportunities, and the impact it has had upon their practice.

Meeting Record Form template

This template allows NQTs, and those supporting them, to record individual meetings, so that a complete record of induction support can be kept.

Observation Form template

This template should be used to record any observation, after the first of each term, that is made of an NQT's teaching.

3. Paperwork specific to Induction Period One (IP1)

IP1 Checklist template

This template shows the things that should take place during IP1, and allows the NQT to 'tick them off'.

Induction Diary Form templates

These templates allow for the recording of induction-based activity on a weekly basis.

Observation Form templates

These templates should be used to record the first observation of an NQT's teaching each term.

Professional Review Meeting Record Form template

This template allows for the recording of the Professional Review Meeting between NQT and Induction Tutor, which should take place at the end of Term One.

Formal Assessment Meeting Self-Evaluation Form template

This template allows an NQT to carry out a self-evaluation of their progress, prior to their formal assessment meeting at the end of Term Two.

These are the criteria against which the success of an NQT's induction is judged.

This is a list of the twenty four administrative tasks that teachers should not be performing.
