The national Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), is the government department responsible for inspecting schools and reporting on standards of achievement and the quality of education provided.

The new Education Inspection Framework came in to force in September 2019, the DfE has written a short ‘explainer text’ for parents/carers on how these changes will affect them. Details of this can be found on the DfE's Ofsted inspection webpage.
