1. Resource bases

A resource base is a specialist provision within a mainstream school for a specific area of special need or disability.

We have a programme of putting resource bases in place in primary and secondary schools for a range of needs.

A resource base aims to support children and young people who have an education, health and care plan, who will benefit from additional specialist support in order to achieve full inclusion in mainstream classes and access the curriculum.

Resource bases have their own admission number and criteria and are organised through the SEND team as with special school admissions.
