Report on the results of the consultation on Public Health Services held between 14 April and 25 May 2016

This report sets out the consultation process undertaken around the need to make savings within Public Health during the financial year 2016/17. This document has been used to determine the recommended course of action to achieve those savings submitted to the Cabinet Member for Healthier and Stronger Communities for approval.

The council’s Public Health grant has been subject to central government cuts, creating a £2.671m budgetary shortfall in 2016/17. A range of savings proposals have been developed to achieve the £2.671m in cashable savings. These proposals were developed following a detailed prioritisation process (with input from commissioners, specialists and providers) and have now been thoroughly consulted on over April and May with input sought from service users, the public, GPs and other clinicians, providers and a range of other stakeholders.
