Voting by post and proxy
Voting by post means we will send you a posting voting pack so you can complete your ballot paper at home and return it in the post when elections take place.
Voting by proxy means someone you trust voting on your behalf.
When postal ballot packs are sent out
If you’re an existing postal voter or we receive your postal vote application by Monday 1 April | We aim to send a postal ballot pack to you around Friday 12 April |
If we receive your valid postal voting application by Monday 8 April | We aim to send a postal ballot pack to you around Wednesday 17 April |
If we receive your valid postal voting application between Thursday 9 April and 5pm on Wednesday 17 April (the postal vote application deadline for these elections) | We aim to send a postal ballot pack to you around Wednesday 24 April |
Returning your postal ballot
Your postal ballot needs to be received by 10pm on polling day, Thursday 2 May, to be included in the count. Postal ballots received after this deadline will not be included.
You can return your completed postal ballot pack in one of the following ways:
- Post it in the pre-paid envelope provided
- Deliver it to Lambeth Town Hall
- Take it to a Lambeth polling station on polling day (Thursday 2 May) between 7am and 10pm
If you are returning postal packs other than your own, there is a limit to how many packs you can hand in. You can hand in a maximum of 5 postal packs in addition to your own.
If you deliver your postal vote to a polling station or the Town Hall, you will need to complete a declaration.
Replacements for lost or spoilt postal ballots
Your postal vote pack will be delivered to the address specified on your application. If you have lost, spoilt, or not received your postal vote, you can apply for a replacement.
Replacements for lost or spoilt postal ballots can be issued in person at Lambeth Town Hall between 9am-5pm on weekdays, from Friday 26 April, until 5pm on polling day, Thursday 2 May.

Emergency proxy voting
The standard proxy voting deadline has now passed, but you may be able to vote by emergency proxy on medical or employment grounds.
