What type of information we have
The form by default will be anonymous, with no obligation to report any further.
There is a question on the form which asks whether you (the reporting person) wish to submit a formal statement to the council. In instances where this question is answered yes, we ask for your:
- name
- email address
- phone number.
How we get information and why we have it
The information we get in relation to this process is captured using an online form, which automatically populates our database. The form is accessed using a link provided by us, or by the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) or Marie Stopes, in the form of a link or a QR code.
We capture this information in order to better understand the incidents that are taking place outside our abortion clinics. By capturing this information, we are better able to respond to the issues reported and make informed decisions on the best approach to take.

The London Borough of Lambeth has a legitimate interest to record the information under the Anti-Social Behaviour Policing and Crime Act 2014.
Consent
During the submission of the report, a mandatory question is asked with a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ response, as to whether or not consent is provided to share the information submitted with the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) and Marie Stopes. An automated process has been set-up to ensure that information is only shared with the specified partners when “Yes” is selected.
What we do with your information
Report submissions are collated with the view to establishing an evidence base for future action to be taken by Public Protection and Regulatory Services (PPRS) at Lambeth Council. Any action taken will have due regard for the Anti-Social Behaviour, Policing and Crime Act 2014.
In accordance with our data sharing agreement and when consent is provided to do so, we will share reports of incidents with the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) and Marie Stopes. BPAS and Marie Stopes will use comments anonymously in their work with national and local government and as part of their campaigns to protect clinic users from harassment. Data will be processed in accordance with the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) privacy notice and the Marie Stopes UK privacy notice.
BPAS are responsible for the abortion clinic in Streatham. Marie Stopes are responsible for the abortion clinic in Brixton. When clients wish to make a formal statement; name, email address and phone numbers will not be shared with either BPAS or Marie Stopes.
Upon completion of a form, Public Protection and Regulatory Services managers will be notified of the submission. This will include the Principle Public Protection Officers joint inbox. This will enable officers to respond to incidents happening now.
How we store your information
Your information will be stored in a Microsoft Excel document linked to the form, this is automatically updated once a report is submitted. The form is stored within a secure network, permissions to access this information is set by the PPRS team on a strictly need to know basis.
How long we keep your data
Data will be stored for no more than six years, as is common practice for enforcement action in relation to the ASB, Policing and Crime Act 2014.

Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.
Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information.
Right to withdraw consent at any time. Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your information for the purpose or purposes you originally agreed to.
