Dementia

Use this guide to find information on dementia and the support services which are available to help people and their families who are impacted by the disease during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In Lambeth, we have nearly 2,000 residents with dementia. Dementia is a disease of the brain and reduces the capacity of people to reason and make choices.

Memory loss can disrupt daily life and may be a symptom of Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Getting a proper diagnosis of dementia is important as it helps to rule out other conditions with similar symptoms so that you can get the correct treatment. To get a diagnosis, you need to contact your GP.
