A collection of JSNA resources to help with the development of Lambeth specific profiles and JSNA materials.

‌This page brings together overarching information, profiles and tools that look at population health as a whole. These resources support and underpin the topics included in the JSNA. They are grouped below by the main organisations in England that produce and publish official statistics, products and tools.

The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID)

OHID brings together expert advice, analysis and evidence with policy development and implementation to shape and drive health improvement and equalities priorities for government.

NHS England

NHS England leads and supports the NHS in England to deliver improved care for patients.

There are a number of useful tools and sources of data and intelligence to help stakeholders and members of the public understand and support the reduction of health inequalities.

Office for National Statistics

The Office for national statistics (ONS) is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels.

  • ONS People, population and community provides links to datasets and publications for various topics for residents of the UK, describing population changes, how we spend our money, and data on crime, relationships, health and religion.
  • ONS Health and social care is a subset of the People, population and community section. It provides datasets and publications on Life expectancy, health inequalities, disability and addiction as well as access to and expenditure on private and public healthcare systems.

The Government Statistical Service (GSS)

The GSS is a community for all civil servants working in the collection, production and communication of official statistics. 

The GSS is the profession group for government statisticians and data scientists.

The Health and care statistics for England tool compiles official statistics relating to health and care in England, into one location. Relevant publications and datasets covering England are identified via the GOV.UK statistics release calendar.

Greater London Authority (GLA)

The Greater London Authority was established in 2000 to represent the interests of Londoners and to direct the future of London, particularly on issues surrounding transport, policing, planning, culture, environment, health, fire and emergency services and economic planning.

The London Datastore contains data on numerous topics by different geographies output by various publishers.

Local Government Association

The national voice of local government, working with councils to support, promote and improve local government.

Local Government Inform (LG Inform), local area benchmarking tool - the search and reporting functionality allow users to assess performance locally, regionally and nationally across all areas of England. Such intelligence can help local authorities make the right decisions about their local areas and the services they provide.

LG Inform brings together a range of key performance contextual and financial data for authorities, in an online tool.

Global Burden of Disease

The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study provides a comprehensive picture of mortality and disability across countries, time, age, and sex.
