What you need to know...
Some air conditioning systems may pose potential health risks if not properly maintained, for example, those which use evaporative cooling.
The main purposes of the registration are to
- identify potential areas that could increase the possibility of the spread of infectious disease, such as Legionella
- ensure preventative measures are taken to eliminate the risk of such infection to employees and the public.
Registration is required under The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.
