Our consultation and engagement platform is where you can find:
- all our current and previous consultation and engagement activity
- how to get involved, and
- how to sign up to keep up-to-date about things that matter to you in the borough

Please note: If English is not your first language, our platform offers the information in 10 different languages.
Each consultation is different and can involve a variety of ways to hear from our residents and the wider community. As well as our consultation and engagement platform, we use methods such as:
- face-to-face surveys
- telephone surveys
- focus groups
- postal/paper questionnaires
- events and workshops.
Along with engaging directly with our residents, we also engage and consult with forums, local businesses, schools, children’s centres and libraries.

Our local libraries are happy to support and assist residents in person with completing questionnaires and getting online. If you need further help and advice, contact us at engagement@lambeth.gov.uk.
The Gunning Principles
When we conduct consultations and engage with our residents, we want to ensure the process is fair and gives you plenty of opportunity to get involved and have your voices heard.
We aim to comply with 4 main principles, called the Gunning Principles:
- consultations must take place when the proposal is still at a formative stage.
- sufficient reasons must be put forward for the proposal to allow for intelligent consideration and response.
- adequate time must be given for consideration and response.
- the results of a consultation must be conscientiously taken into account.
