Lambeth’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Champions Network brings together residents and professionals across the borough.
Champions help raise awareness of violence against women and girls and support people who may be affected by it.
There are 2 ways to become a VAWG Champion.
Community VAWG Champions
Community VAWG Champions are Lambeth residents who want to help raise awareness of violence against women and girls in their communities.
To become a Community VAWG Champion, you’ll need to attend a 3-hour training session delivered by the Lambeth Violence Reduction Unit.
After completing the training, you’ll:
- become a Community VAWG Champion
- receive the VAWG Champions Handbook and useful resources
- be invited to quarterly VAWG Forum meetings
When you register your interest, we’ll contact you about upcoming training opportunities.
Practitioner VAWG Champions
Practitioner VAWG Champions are people who work with Lambeth residents and want to strengthen how they recognise and respond to violence against women and girls.
When you sign up as a Practitioner VAWG Champion, you’ll:
- become part of the Lambeth Practitioner VAWG Champions Network
- receive information and resources to support you in using the Recognise, Respond and Refer framework
- be added to the VAWG Forum mailing list
- receive invitations to quarterly VAWG Forum meetings
