Gender-Based Violence Expert by Experience panel

We value the expertise that people with lived experience have.

Become a member of Lambeth’s Gender-Based Violence Expert by Experience Panel

The Experts by Experience panel will help us ensure our work reflects the views and needs of victims and survivors in Lambeth. For example, by reviewing our annual action plan, supporting us to develop training content, and helping us to communicate with residents.

We are accepting expressions of interest from victims and survivors who would like to help shape the response to Gender-Based Violence in Lambeth.

Gender-based violence and ‘Violence against women and girls (VAWG)’ both describe forms of violence and abuse that disproportionately affect women and girls, including domestic abuse and sexual violence. However, people of any gender can experience abuse of this nature and the consequences effect everyone.

The council’s Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy includes victims and survivors of all genders. Following feedback we are using ‘Gender-Based Violence’ when recruiting for our Experts by Experience panel to welcome male and non-binary survivor participation.

We welcome people who:

  • have experienced gender-based violence. This includes: domestic abuse, sexual violence, Female Genital Mutilation/cutting, so called ‘Honour’-based abuse, forced marriage, sexual exploitation (including modern slavery and child sexual exploitation)
  • are aged 16 or over
  • live, work, or study in Lambeth
  • are willing to share their views and ideas with the council to help us to tackle Gender-Based violence and improve the response for other victims and survivors.
