We want your views on our proposals to improve the Southville entrance to Larkhall Park. This entrance to the park has become run down and unattractive. It is also difficult to access. Larkhall Park has suffered from under-investment in recent years. The layout and condition of some parts of the park are hazardous and can contribute to a perception that the area is unsafe. This has the effect of discouraging people who might otherwise want to use the park. Lambeth Council staff have been talking to people in the local community, including the Friends of Larkhall Park and have developed plans to improve safety within the park.

The Southville entrance to the park, next to The Surprise public house is an area where there have been cases of anti-social behaviour. One particular area is the large pergola. It does not serve any particular purpose, and is also now in poor condition. We plan to remove it and re-landscape the entrance area. This could involve opening up the area, taking away the hard landscaping, and decluttering the space. The aim would be to eliminate anti-social behaviour and make the area more attractive.
