Have your say on Salters Hill Playground (Norwood Park)

The Purpose

We are seeking your views to guide improvements at Salters Hill children's playground at Norwood Park.  

We would like your help, ideas and opinions towards replacing the wooden climbing structures, which have sadly reached the end of their life and been removed.  We want to look at the remaining play equipment, much of which needs to be repaired or replaced.  

We would like your thoughts on which facilities are important to keep or replace, and whether there is anything missing in the old design.  

Currently the playground has a limited budget with £150,000 allocated towards these improvements. While this sounds a lot, it is well short of the replacement cost. For comparison, the previous playground cost £225,000 when it was built in 2010, costs which have almost doubled with the rising price of materials and transport.  

The survey will help to guide priorities for repair or replacement, allowing us to consider together how to phase the project most effectively around fundraising 

Lambeth Council is very grateful for support from Friends of Norwood Park to maximise local input into the process. This initial consultation will guide draft designs and phasing. We will then work with the Friends to hold a public meeting in September to discuss the results of the consultation, before commissioning designs and costings. We hope to have a second stage of consultation and meetings around the new designs over winter.
