These notices incorrectly state that Lambeth Council has complained to the court that these residents have not paid in accordance with their Council Tax bill.
The council took action to correct the position as soon as this mistake was discovered. We have written to everyone affected, apologising for the error made, and for any distress caused as a result. Letters should arrive on Tuesday 4 April.
If you have been affected, we would like to reassure you that the summons and associated costs will be removed from your Council Tax account. You will not be required to attend a hearing or to contact the Council Tax Team in relation to the incorrect summons notice.
If you do not receive a follow up letter informing you that a summons was sent in error, this means your summons remains valid and should be responded to as such.
