Apprentices
You can get a discount if someone in your household is:
- an apprentice with a salary of less than £195 a week
- training for a qualification that is recognised by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation or the Scottish Vocational Education Council
You cannot get a discount if 2 or more other people also live in the household and they:
- count as an adult for Council Tax
- are not entitled to a discount

Care workers
You can get a discount if someone in your household:
- is employed as a care worker for at least 24 hours a week
- is on a salary of less than £44 a week
The house must be accommodation that is provided by their employer. The employer must be either:
- the person receiving care
- the Crown
- a public authority
- a body established for charitable purposes
You cannot get a discount if 2 or more other people also live in the household and they:
- count as an adult for Council Tax
- are not entitled to a discount

You can get a discount if someone in your household is either:
- a member of a visiting force or international organisation
- a diplomat

Members of a religious community
You can get a discount if someone in your household is a member of a religious community. Their main occupation must be either:
- prayer
- contemplation
- the relief of suffering
- education
They must have no income or capital of their own.
You cannot get a discount if 2 or more other people also live in the household and they:
- count as an adult for Council Tax
- are not entitled to a discount

You can get a discount if someone in your household is:
- under 25
- taking part in a youth training scheme
