Heat decarbonisation study

Information on the Heat decarbonisation study

Building level options and costs

Retrofit options appraisals have been completed for the most common building types in Lambeth. Over 30 building types are identified, with costs and benefits set out for each. Four options have been outlined for each building type, which follow the below structure:

  1. Business as usual (existing building with a new gas boiler)
  2. Basic insulation improvements with electrification of heat
  3. Good practice insulation improvements with electrification of heat
  4. Best practice insulation improvements with electrification of heat

You can view the recommendations for each building type by clicking on the relevant link below. There is also a link to a guidance document which explains the methodology in forming these recommendations and outlines some of the key assumptions.

Please note that this analysis sets out the measures the study authors consider to be the most effective at decarbonising heat in a general property of that type, and contains a number of assumptions about energy tariffs and pricing. This analysis does not represent advice from the council or the study authors about measures building owners should take, and costs are indicative only.
