Becoming a Net Zero Council by 2030

We have made a bold commitment to lead by example and reduce our carbon footprint to zero by 2030. Our corporate carbon reduction plan sets out how we will make the council’s operations carbon neutral by 2030.

Implementation

A carbon measurement framework and baseline will be produced by the council in 2020. The actions above will be reviewed in line with this, and updated accordingly.

Progress to achieving the 2030 target will be reported to cabinet annually and published.

A cross-organisational officer group will be established to review progress towards the target, and develop the action plan.
