Join Brixton Library’s Radical Readers to discuss Letter from Birmingham Jail by Martin Luther King Jr.

Written on April 16, 1963, the ‘Letter from Birmingham Jail’ is an open letter by Martin Luther King Jr. defending nonviolent direct action against segregation. Imprisoned in Alabama, King expressed deep frustration with white moderates who prioritized ‘order’ over justice, and preferred waiting passively. He argued that people have a moral duty to break unjust laws immediately rather than wait for justice.
