Attica Locke is a multi-prize-winning, best-selling American crime author, television writer and producer. Her Highway 59 book trilogy follows Black lawman Darren Mathews as he confronts the horrors of racial prejudice in contemporary East Texas. In the series finale, Guide Me Home, Darren, disillusioned by an America forever changed by the presidency of Donald Trump, comes out of retirement to investigate the disappearance of a Black college student in an all-white sorority, when everyone close to her denies that she has disappeared.

Her screenwriting/producer credits include When They See Us, Empire, and the Emmy nominated Little Fires Everywhere, for which she won an NAACP Image award for television writing. In 2022, she co-created From Scratch, the Netflix adaptation of her sister Tembi Locke’s memoir, which trended in the top 10 globally.

Attica will be in conversation with Nadine Matheson, author of The Kill List and The Jigsaw Man
