We trace the history of Clapham Common from medieval grazing ground, through recreation place for 18th century incomers who built villas around it, associations with the Clapham Sect, witness to transformation into a Victorian suburb, its notable community role in WW2, and finally as today’s green recreation heart of our thriving, multi-cultural community.
