Tuesday 9 March, 7pm - Recovering Stories of Women in History with Naomi Clifford
The rape and murder of Mary Ashford in 1817 became a huge scandal and eventually led to a change of homicide laws in England. The truth, Naomi says, in discussion of her book The Murder of Mary Ashford, has been hidden in plain sight for two centuries... Event organised by the Friends of Carnegie Library. Wednesday 10 March, 7pm - A Kick in the Belly: Women, Slavery and Resistance with Stella Dadzie
In her novel A Kick in the Belly Stella shows how women, in subtle acts of insubordination and conscious acts of rebellion, came to undermine the very fabric and survival of West Indian slavery. Book a ticket here.
Tuesday 16 March, 7pm - Peace Adzo Medie discusses her latest novel, His Only Wife
