2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the Festival of Britain, in which the Waterloo Shot Tower played the forgotten architectural ugly sister to the Festival’s two Cinderellas of the Skylon and Dome of Discovery. But during its working life it was an important part of Lambeth industrial riverside and was celebrated in literature and the media.  Nick Rampley’s talk tells the story of this overlooked ‘pillar’ of Lambeth’s heritage.
