A solo exhibition of etchings by London based artist and illustrator Staffan Gnosspelius. Bear is a striking series of etchings about a bear struggling with depression and a hare trying to help him fight his way out of it.

“A character appeared in my sketchbook. A bear with a cone on his head. At the time someone very close to me was fighting both depression and alcoholism and I was struggling to find a way to help them…”

The project developed into an 80-page picture books of etchings with no text, to enable the viewer/reader to make up their own interpretation of the images.

This show is the first exhibition hosted by the newly refurbished gallery room at Durning Library in Kennington Lane.
