Chatterbooks is a reading group with a difference. Each month we talk about what we've been reading, play games and do lots of activities all around the wonderful world of books. This is aimed to target 7-11yr olds.

A club designed to support children learning to read, struggling readers, and those learning English. The sessions are led by a retired school teacher and provide personalised guidance to help children build confidence in reading.

Adult book group reading mostly adult fiction, both contemporary and classic, prize-winning authors, fiction in translation and occasionally non-fiction books. All books are selected from the Library’s Reading Group Collection.

A performance event to immerse you in film, interactivity and debate.

Louise Walker taught English for 35 years, where she enjoyed sharing her life-long passion for poetry, while snatching moments for her own writing. Over the last few years, her work has been published in many journals and recognised by awards.

A sociable adult knitting and crochet group. Bring your own knitting/crocheting or use needles, hooks, wool and knitting patterns provided by the group. Help is on hand for any knitting/crocheting queries.

The debt advice kiosk offers free expert advice via video for individuals with financial difficulties or money worries.

Each kiosk is designed as a soundproof booth, ensuring conversations remain private and confidential.
