Every Pound Counts is Lambeth Councill's Welfare Rights Service. The service for Lambeth residents who have a long term serious health condition or disability, or for residents caring for a disabled child or child experiencing serious long term ill health. The service accepts referrals to support residents who may find it difficulty to access mainstream advice services due to their health conditions or other complex needs.
The service provides benefit checks to identify whether the person is receiving the correct level of financial help and provides the support needed to correct underpayments of benefit. If benefits are underpaid the service can help the person to appeal the benefit decision, for example where the claim has been stopped, refused or the amount of benefit reduced.
Organisations can refer vulnerable customers by completing the on line referral form. The service may not be able to assist everyone referred and prioritises those with the most urgent advice needs.
