Your request
We are writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request information for all current and historical Smoke Control Areas (SCAs), falling wholly or partly within Lambeth's current boundary.
We would be grateful if you could please provide information for items 1. & 2. below:
[1.] For the current SCA (2022) and for each historical SCA (all years prior to 2022) please provide EITHER:
(a) A GIS file, preferably in shapefile format, showing the boundaries of the SCA at the time it came into operation; OR
(b) An electronic plan showing the SCA boundaries at the time it came into operation; OR
(c) an electronic copy of the plan showing the SCA boundaries at the time of public consultation, and as referred to in the relevant notice of the London Gazette.
[2.] A file, preferably in excel format, containing a list of all SCAs that have ever been operational in your Local Authority where each row represents an individual SCA and where separate columns indicate:
(i) the title of the Smoke Control Order associated with the SCA
(ii) the date the SCA came into effect/operation
(iii) where applicable the date the SCA was revoked
(iv) where applicable dates indicating any period during which the SCA was suspended
(v) the area of the SCA in specified units (e.g. acres or hectares)
(vi) where available an estimate of the number of premises that were inside the SCA when the area was surveyed or when the SCA came into operation.
(We have attached an excel template, and would appreciate it if you could use the template to record the information for item 2.)
Please note that if this request cannot be satisfied in full within the cost limits, we would be happy to discuss re-specifying this request and/or contributing to the costs of complying with the request. If the request cannot be met in full due to missing information for some SCAs, we would be happy to accept a partial response.
Our response
