Your request & our response

1. What funding stream is either allocated to or being considered to be used for this redevelopment?

The council will pursue all relevant funding streams to enable this much needed regeneration including cross subsidy from private residential sales and GLA grant funding as well as any other funding that may become available over the lifetime of the regeneration.

2. Is Lambeth council and/or Homes for Lambeth seeking to access funding from the Mayor of London's affordable homes programme for the proposed redevelopment of the Central Hill estate?

Lambeth has secured GLA funding for its regeneration programme.

3. Is Lambeth council and/or Homes for Lambeth intending to hold a resident ballot on the estate as per the terms of the Mayor of London's Better Homes for Local People - The Mayor's Good Practice Guide to Estate Regeneration?

As a part of the 2016 consultation undertaken by an independent organisation, Central Hill residents were asked their views around the full rebuilding of the estate and a no build option. Details of the other options that had been reviewed through the feasibility stage were also sent to residents. In this consultation, two thirds of resident households participated and the majority of council tenants backed the full rebuilding of the estate, with only a third of tenants opposed to rebuilding. The detail of the consultation and the amendments the council made to its offer to residents in response to this thorough consultation are available here as background to the Council’s decision to proceed with the rebuilding of the estate.

4. If such a resident ballot is planned, what is the timeline for this?

The timeline for the masterplanning on Central Hill has not yet been finalised, but once it has, it will be shared with residents.

5. If such a resident ballot is not proposed, please give the reason for this?

Please see above.
