I would like to request some information under the Freedom of Information Act.
Please could you confirm:
-- The total number of staff employed by Lambeth Borough Council
-- The total number of staff at each pay band (or scale or range - whichever terminology your council uses)
-- The number of Lambeth Borough Council staff who are resident in Lambeth
-- The number of staff who are resident in Lambeth at each pay band
It should be straightforward to download HR/staff data, and filter the data you hold by location to determine the number of Lambeth-resident staff you have. It should therefore be straightforward to determine the number of Lambeth-resident staff at each pay band.
This is a straightforward data processing request, and should not require more than a maximum of ten hours' work, any excessive resource, or any complex procedures.
It may be the case that the organisation does not already keep internal records of which staff are resident in the borough. If this is the case, the organisation already holds a list of which postcodes lie within the borough for council tax and other local government administrative purposes, which can be easily matched against staff address records using Microsoft Excel functions. This may add another hour on to the processing time.
This request does not require disclosure of any sensitive or potentially identifiable information, as this request refers to the pay distribution of staff who are resident in the borough as a whole, and does not ask for details of staff at specific pay bands at specific locations within the borough.
