Our response

  1. Yes
    1. We collect food waste from all kerbside properties but only 6000 properties from housing estates are on the program.  In total 91122 properties out of 150272 are able to access food waste collections which is 61%.
    2. In Lambeth, food waste is collected from house/kerbside properties. Lambeth Council is expanding its food waste collection services with the aim of having all the council housing estates in the borough included by 2025. In March 2023 new food waste bins and caddies were delivered to 12 estates in the borough, doubling the number of communal properties that receive these collections. If residents are living in a flat/estate, the council will be rolling out food waste to every resident in the coming years.

Kerbside properties are provided with an internal kitchen caddy, as well as a 23-litre external caddy.

The waste is collected weekly.

  1. Lambeth introduced food waste collection services to all kerbside properties in 2014.
