Your Request
This is a Freedom of Information Act request about land asset disposals. By land asset disposal, I mean both
a) the sale of council-owned land or buildings to a third party, and
b) the granting of a long-term lease to a third party of council owned land and buildings.
For the avoidance of doubt, I am not interested in the disposal of council-owned housing to existing tenants.
The request
1. Please state how many land asset disposals have been made by the Council in the past two full accounting years. For each disposal, please state:
a. The name of the recipient
b. The location (address) of the land asset
c. A brief description of the land asset (such as its size in square metres, and the number/nature of the buildings on site)
d. The nature of the disposal (e.g. freehold or granting of a lease)
e. The amount of money - including nil amounts - paid to the council for the land asset
f. Whether the disposal was conducted in line with a policy objective, and if so, the name of the relevant policy
g. Whether the land asset was sold with planning permission conditions attached
h. Whether the disposal was made at 'less than best' consideration
Please ensure that any redactions you seek to make, based on the exemptions in the Act, are sufficiently granular.
Where you do cite exemptions, please explain how they directly relate to the withheld information, and, where applicable, how the public interest of withholding/releasing the information has informed your decision.
I would prefer to receive all information in electronic format and in machine-readable formats such as .xls where applicable.
Our Response
Please see the attached excel spreadsheet providing an outline of the information requested together with a link to each publicly available disposal report for additional detail on each transaction. As requested the properties listed are the Council’s non-residential asset disposals for the last two accounting years. There were no disposals in the accounting year 2021/2022.
