1. Registering for an account
To register, go to register for a mylambeth account and follow the steps.
If you’re trying to register but the system isn’t accepting your email address, you may be on the sign in page. Click ‘I need to register’ or go to the registration page
Account unlock code
You'll receive an unlock account code in the post if you've given us registration details that don't match with council records.
The account unlock code is an extra security check which confirms your address and identity before you access your mylambeth account.
To register for an account, we ask for some personal details including your name, address and date of birth.
We ask for your date of birth to confirm your identity so you can access all of the services available.
Who can register?
Anyone can register for an account, including people who live outside of Lambeth.
2. Activating your account
Activation link emails
Once you register online, we'll send you an email with an activation link. Sometimes these emails can end up in your junk or spam folder.
If you registered for mylambeth before Thursday 15 September 2016 you will need to activate your account using a PIN number.
The PIN number will be posted to your registered address so we can verify your address and make sure your online information is kept secure.
You can order recycling bags in mylambeth without your PIN number, so you don’t have to wait for it to arrive in the post.
Simply log in with your email address and password, and click 'skip this step for now' when you're asked to enter your PIN.
You will need to wait for your PIN number to arrive before you can access the following accounts:
To enter your PIN, log in to mylambeth with your email address and password and enter your PIN when prompted. Be careful not to leave a space.
Once you've entered your PIN you won't have to enter it again.
3. Change of address
If you move house, you can update your mylambeth account to show this:
- Log in to mylambeth
- Select the 'My accounts' tab
- Select 'edit my details' on the right
- Choose change name/address
You can only change your address details once you’ve received your PIN number through the post and entered it on mylambeth.
Changing address in mylambeth does not change your address for council tax - you'll need to do this through the council tax portal.
4. Forgotten password or locked out of account
If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it:
- Go to the login page and click ‘I have forgotten my password’
- Enter your memorable word
You'll then be able to reset your password.
Locked out of your account
If you enter your password incorrectly three times, you'll be locked out of your account for an hour and won’t be able to try to sign in again in this time.
If you still can’t get into your account after an hour, try resetting your password - click 'I have forgotten my password' on the mylambeth login page.
If you still can’t get in and you’ve forgotten your memorable word, complete our Report issues with mylambeth form and the support team will send you a temporary password. You'll need to log in and use this temporary password within 24 hours.
5. Council Tax and business rates account
You can access your Council Tax and business rates account in mylambeth and view your account summary.
To add your Council Tax or business rates account you'll need to:
- Go to add account
- Select Council Tax or business rates
- Provide your Council Tax or business rates account details
- Answer security questions
To view further information such as past payments and direct debits, click on the green link for the current billing period on the council tax or business rates summary page.
6. Housing benefits account
You can access your housing benefit account in mylambeth and view your account summary, your claim information and your entitlement calculation.
To add your housing benefit account to your mylambeth account:
- Log in to mylambeth
- Go to 'My accounts'
- Choose ‘Housing benefits and/or Council Tax support’
- Enter your details (claim number, postcode, date of birth, national insurance number)
Click on a claim number shown in green and you’ll be able to see your benefit statement, showing payment history, benefit entitlement calculation and notification letters.
If a payment is made to your housing benefit account, it'll appear in mylambeth the next day.
Housing benefit entitlement
You can find out how your housing benefit was calculated.
Click on 'housing benefit entitlement' and then the relevant date. You can click on any text in green to see more information.
Housing benefit claim letters
Your mylambeth account will show you letters that are automatically generated by the housing benefit system.
You won't be able to see letters sent to you directly by your benefits advisor - you'll need to keep your own copies of these.
You’ll be able to see these benefit notification letters in your mylambeth account:
- Claim adjustment letter
- Claim commence letter
- End of year statement
- Claim suspend letter
- Claim unsuspend letter
Older housing benefit information
On your mylambeth account, you'll be able to see information about your housing benefit claim going back to April 2013, if your claim has been uninterrupted since then.
If you need information that doesn’t appear on your mylambeth account, contact the housing benefit department at email@example.com.
7. Rent and service charge accounts
The mylambeth housing portal is no longer being updated. A new portal will be available soon.

If your question hasn’t been answered above, please report an issue with mylambeth.
We can answer questions and fix problems with your mylambeth account, but if your question is to do with one of the services on mylambeth, like an error with your benefit information, you'll need to contact the relevant department.
