How cases are assessed
When an individual is referred to Prevent, the team will speak to the referrer and assess the case.
If the referral is considered to be of sufficient concern, the team will request further information from the referrer. This information will be handed over to the Police to carry out a vulnerability assessment.
If the individual is assessed as needing support to prevent them from being drawn into terrorism, the case will be referred to the monthly Channel Panel. The Police will also request further information on the individual from the Prevent team, which will be collected and shared.
