Parks and open spaces - opening and closing times

Lambeth contains over 78 parks, commons and other public open spaces. 

All of our parks and open spaces are closed at night throughout the year, including at weekends and Bank Holidays. The Lambeth Parks and Open Spaces byelaws state: 

Opening times 

3. (1) No person shall enter or remain in the ground except during opening hours. 

(2) “Opening hours” means the days and times during which the ground is open to the public indicated by a notice placed in a conspicuous position at the entrance to the ground.

Official closing times are normally 15 minutes before dusk and will therefore vary throughout the year. Sites are open much later during the summer months than they would be during winter.

Please note: the gardens at the Streatham Rookery close 30 minutes before dusk or earlier in inclement weather. Please check online at Google by typing in 'The Rookery Streatham' for the current closing times.  

Please refer to our official closing times to ensure you have plenty of time to leave the site.

Please note that British Summer Time (BST) starts at midnight on Saturday 28th March 2026, and closing times will go back one hour as of Sunday 29th March 2026.

*except Ruskin Park which opens at 7am
