198 Contemporary Arts and Learning and Photofusion

198 Contemporary Arts and Learning and Photofusion work together to offer adult learning provision in the visual arts in Lambeth.  198 Contemporary Arts and Learning works with artists and curators to deliver exhibitions and events as part of our artistic programme, education and employability courses, workspaces and affordable space for hire. Photofusion specialises in training, support and career progression in photography, covering analogue, digital and the moving image.

The Baytree Centre is a social inclusion charity for women and girls located in the heart of Brixton.  It offers ESOL classes from beginners to Entry Level 3 in a safe, supporting and welcoming all-female space.

Baytree inspires women to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive in life, work and family.  In addition to their ESOL courses, women also benefit from a whole host of other services including one-to-one coaching, Information, Advice and Guidance, and workshops across the five pillars of the Baytree Bridge – Education (ESOL, Literacy, Everyday Digital Skills), Employment (CV building, interview practice, job search, work experience), Family (relationships with children, housing, mother and children activities), Financial Literacy and Wellbeing (Zumba, Yoga, creative arts for wellbeing).

High Trees

High Trees runs an exciting variety of free courses, including ICT/digital skills, Functional Skills English and Maths, ESOL classes, Family Learning, Art and Wellbeing and Community Organising courses. The offer of accredited and non-accredited courses ranges from basic skills that can help with employment or build skills for everyday life, to specialised accredited courses that can provide routes into new areas such as community action. Courses are run in a supportive environment to provide learners with the best guidance about opportunities for volunteering, accessing further or higher education and training and your next steps.

Iconic Steps

Iconic Steps delivers courses to help get young people up to age 35 into employment in the media industry.  Following the course, learners can join our Alumni Programme and access ongoing support and opportunities to gain employment with our media partners such as Disney, ITV and See Saw Films.

MI Skills Development Centre (MISDC)

MI Skills Development Centre (MISDC) is a voluntary organisation providing education, training, advice and support to disadvantaged individuals and community groups. It’s mission is to transform lives through learning that improves the long-term career, employability and health of learners and the sustainability of small and medium businesses.  

MISDC delivers a wide range of accredited courses in ESOL, English, ICT and Maths (Entry Level to Level 2)

Non-accredited courses are in Active Citizenship, Digital Skills, Skills for Work and Health & Social Care.

MISDC offers Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to support your learning journey to ensure you are enrolled onto the correct course for your level.

Train2Work specialises in training short courses: Functional Skills (Entry 1 to Level 2) in Mathematics, ICT, ESOL, Employability Training, Essential Digital Skills, CSCS Level 1 in Health & Safety in Construction and CIBT CSCS training and Food Safety in Catering Level II.
