Using Lambeth social media and community websites

We have a range of ways for you to find out what is happening in Lambeth.

Main Lambeth Council social media accounts

The main council social media channels are looked after by the policy and communications team.

We aim to use these channels to help you to keep up-to-date with what is happening in the borough and look forward to seeing your views and feedback. We will also help with questions where we can.

House rules

We have a short set of house rules to keep our channels courteous and welcoming to all.

We reserve the right to remove posts from our facebook page or community websites and/or report messages which we feel are:

  • racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable
  • break intellectual property rights
  • break any law or regulation
  • spam (persistent negative and/or abusive tweeting that aims to provoke a response)

In persistent and extreme cases we will also consider blocking accounts on social media.

Responding to Twitter queries and Facebook posts

  • We will do our best to respond to questions on Facebook and Twitter within one working day.
  • We will help you, or direct you to departments or online information, where possible.
  • Our working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We will answer questions sent outside of these times when working hours resume.

Please note, while we will help to direct you to more information where possible, if you want to know about a specific policy you can also contact the relevant departmentCabinet Member or your local councillors.

Other ways to keep up-to-date

Many of the council departments also maintain their own social media accounts/websites and these are a great way to keep up-to-date on individual areas. These include:
