The Loughborough Park environmental improvements project is funded through planning obligations and a Highways Improvements Programme budget. It has delivered much improved and fully accessible children’s play areas, renewed the meandering footpath network around the park and will soon release a large green space (currently fenced off around the former One O’clock club building) back into the park.
The released green space will reinvigorate Loughborough Park and have a positive effect on its biodiversity. The council is also currently carrying out improvements to the club building, which will soon be leased to a young adults’ charity – Dwaynamics, with youth and play focus.
