Four boroughs - Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth have come together to submit an £11m funding bid to drive economic growth in the ‘South London Innovation Corridor’. The bid has been made to the Corporation of London who are administering a new ‘Strategic Investment Pot’ (SIP) on behalf of the Mayor of London as part of a London-wide £52m Business Rates Retention Pilot.

The initiative would direct investment into central (South Bank; Vauxhall Nine Elms) and local growth clusters (Brixton; New Cross; Old Kent Road; Peckham; Camberwell; and Wandsworth) - supporting creative and digital business growth across these areas.

The partnership bid also brings together universities including Goldsmiths, London South Bank University, the Royal College of Art and Capital Enterprise - London’s membership body for connectors, investors and policy makers supporting London’s start-up scene.
